Mountain Valley had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 3-4 to make it five. They came up short against the Mount Abram Roadrunners, falling 12-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-2 two weeks ago.

As for Mount Abram, their record is now 5-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.

For Mount Abram's part, Brennan Mitchell made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave Mitchell a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
