Baseball Recap: Land O' Lakes' Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Land O' Lakes entered their tilt with Wesley Chapel on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-1 back in February.

Aiden Marsiglio spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed over his last six matches.

On the hitting side, Peyton Nackers was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trevor Wildman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Land O' Lakes pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Wesley Chapel, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-7.

Looking ahead, Land O' Lakes will head out on the road to take on River Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Land O' Lakes' pitchers better be ready for this one: River Ridge has averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Wesley Chapel, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pasco at 7:00 p.m.
