Baseball Recap: Marathon Dolphins vs. Riviera Prep Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 In what's become a running theme this season, Marathon gave their fans yet another huge  win on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Riviera Prep Bulldogs  a   6-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Marathon sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
  Jack Chapman was  excellent,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.  Dylan Williams was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 On Riviera Prep's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tim Negron, who  went 1-for-3 with a  stolen base. Negron has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played.
 Even though they lost, Riviera Prep  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 15  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marathon only tossed nine.
 Marathon has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won eight of their last nine matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record  this season. As for Riviera Prep, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost six of their last seven contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record  this season.
 Marathon will be playing in front of their home fans against Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Marathon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6  runs per game  this season. As for Riviera Prep, they are on the road again  on Monday to play Archbishop Carroll at 4:00  p.m. Riviera Prep has given up an average of 6.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
