Softball Game Preview: Downtown Magnets Suns vs. Central City Value Jaguars

The Downtown Magnets Suns will venture away from home to face off against the Central City Value Jaguars at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Downtown Magnets comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Downtown Magnets lost 28-2 to USC-MAE on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Central City Value duked it out with Annenberg on Thursday. The Jaguars put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-3 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Mercedes Ponce was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Emily Fernandez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

Central City Value always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .730. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Downtown Magnets' loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Central City Value, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.
