 There's no place like home for Minneola, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road  last Tuesday. They blew past the Ellis Railroaders 11-1. For Minneola, this counts as revenge for the   15-0 loss Ellis walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in May of 2021.
  Eli Lang made a big impact no matter where he played. He  struck out 12 batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits (and not a single walk). Lang has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  tossed less than 11  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Lang was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs.
 Lang wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Lathan McPhail, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-2. McPhail has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  a single  hit in three consecutive pitching appearances. Another player making a difference was  James Littlewood, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 Minneola pushed their record up to 5-2 with that  victory, which was their fifth straight  at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.2 runs per game. As for Ellis,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Minneola beat Ellis by a score of  18-8 later that day.
