Football Game Preview: Cypress Falls Eagles vs. Jersey Village Falcons + How To Watch

The Cypress Falls Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Jersey Village Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Falls will be strutting in after a win while Jersey Village will be coming in after a defeat.

Cypress Falls is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Northbrook: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Raiders out of the water with a 56-3 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-3.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gabriel Wilson and Deron Simpson. Wilson rushed for 121 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries while Simpson rushed for 111 yards and a pair of scores. Wilson is becoming a predictor of Cypress Falls' success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).

Cypress Falls was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 341 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Cypress Falls, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of James Henderson, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, Jersey Village played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Stratford and fell 47-14. The Falcons have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The victory made it two in a row for Cypress Falls and bumps their season record up to 3-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Jersey Village, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Cypress Falls against Jersey Village in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 56-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
