Baseball Recap: Stevens' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Stevens's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Taft Raiders. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Stevens got a massive performance out of Max Zamarippa, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Zamarippa a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Eric Mendoza, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Stevens' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-7. As for Taft, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stevens will take on Warren at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Taft, they will challenge South San Antonio at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South San Antonio is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
