Renaissance Academy posted their closest win since April 26, 2024 on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over Delaware County Christian. The win continues a trend for Renaissance Academy in their matchups with Delaware County Christian: they've now won eight in a row.

Gabby Anderoni spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered eight runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Grace Trexler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.3 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Reynolds, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

The victory got Renaissance Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Delaware County Christian, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Renaissance Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chichester at 3:45 p.m. on the 25th. As for Delaware County Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 20-0 defeat against MAST Community Charter on the 14th.
