Basketball Game Preview: Chardon Hilltoppers vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

The Chardon Hilltoppers and the Chagrin Falls Tigers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Chardon is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Madison just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Streaks. The contest marked the Hilltoppers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls didn't have quite enough to beat Streetsboro on Friday and fell 47-45. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Rockets are ranked 189th).

Chardon's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. As for Chagrin Falls, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Chardon might still be hurting after the 68-44 loss they got from Chagrin Falls when the teams last played back in January of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chagrin Falls' Jacob Kay, who went 10 for 14 on his way to 26 points and three steals.
