Football Game Preview: Boonton Bombers vs. Mountain Lakes Lakers

The Boonton Bombers will head out on the road to square off against the Mountain Lakes Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boonton has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 108 points over their last three matchups.

Boonton had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 27-point drubbing they dealt Hopatcong on Friday. The Bombers blew past the Chiefs, posting a 33-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bombers in their matchups with the Chiefs: they've now won seven in a row.

A big part of Boonton's victory came down to the chemistry between Daniel Coutts and his top target Kali Polanco. Coutts threw for 102 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes while Polanco picked up 92 receiving yards and three TDs.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Mountain Lakes beat Lenape Valley 28-24 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lakers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Patriots are ranked 213th).

The win got Mountain Lakes back to even at 2-2. As for Boonton, their record is now 3-0.

Boonton lost to Mountain Lakes on the road by a decisive 42-25 margin in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Bombers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
