Basketball Recap: Oliver Thompson and Dane Petersen Secure Win for Portland Adventist Academy

Portland Adventist Academy put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 59-40 win over the Scio Loggers. The Cougars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Loggers, too.

Leading Portland Adventist Academy to victory were Dane Petersen and Oliver Thompson. Petersen went 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points in addition to five boards and four blocks, while Thompson went 8 of 15 on his way to 23 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Thompson a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Villa, who posted nine points and six assists.

Portland Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Scio, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.

Portland Adventist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 52-38 defeat against Portland Christian on the 12th. As for Scio, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-62 win against Estacada on the 13th.
