Softball Recap: Nelson County Comes Up Short

Nelson County and North Hardin pushed the score to 22-3 the last time they played North Hardin, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Cardinals fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 1-0. It was the first time this season that the Cardinals let down their fans at home.

Aubrey Robbins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

Nelson County's loss dropped their record down to 21-9-1. As for North Hardin, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-12.

As of now, neither Nelson County nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
