Marietta dropped their record down to 9-13 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Parkersburg South Patriots, falling 12-6. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

As for Parkersburg South, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-11. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Parkersburg South's part, the team relied heavily on Carter McLain, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. McLain is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 11-3 (and 6-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Dylan Holliday, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Marietta will venture away from home to challenge Caldwell at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Parkersburg South, they will head out to square off against Warren at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight.
