Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Union Lions vs. Fairfield Union Falcons

Liberty Union is 2-8 against Fairfield Union since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Liberty Union Lions will head out on the road to take on the Fairfield Union Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

It was a proper cat-fight when Liberty Union faced off against Circleville on Tuesday. Liberty Union strolled past Circleville with points to spare, taking the game 66-49. The Lions pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Fairfield Union over Logan Elm in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Fairfield Union took down Logan Elm 65-46.

Liberty Union is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Fairfield Union, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Liberty Union came up short against Fairfield Union when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 64-54. Can Liberty Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
