Softball Recap: Ohio County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Ohio County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Butler County Bears by a score of 5-2 on Monday. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Bears back in April, they had to take a 8-1 defeat.

Addyson Graves (2025) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hadlee Canty (2025), who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

The victory got Ohio County back to even at 16-16-1. As for Butler County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-24.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ohio County will square off against Hancock County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.65 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Butler County, they will face off against Logan County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
