Baseball Recap: Hanover Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hanover entered their tilt with ConVal on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Jack Lobb was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Allie Muirhead was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Jorgen Drent, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Hanover hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Hanover's record is now 5-2. As for ConVal, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hanover is set to challenge their familiar foe Plymouth at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, ConVal will square off against rival Milford at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
