Softball Recap: Bloomfield Picks Up 18th Straight Win at Home

Bloomfield waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Pembroke Dragons 8-1. The Bombers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Dragons, too.

Ashlyn Wright made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Bloomfield got a big performance out of Addison Falsone, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits Falsone has posted since back in April. Calla McCombs was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Bloomfield hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Bloomfield pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 11.7 runs this season. As for Pembroke, they moved to 12-7 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Bloomfield nor the Dragons have any future games scheduled.
