Preview: Hampton Talbots vs. Taylor Allderdice Dragons
The Hampton Talbots will face off against the Taylor Allderdice Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Hampton waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 56-48 win over Knoch. Given Hampton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Knoch is ranked 148th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Taylor Allderdice can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Carrick 72-31 at home. Taylor Allderdice pushed the score to 61-29 by the end of the third, a deficit Carrick had no chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Logan Golle, who scored 24 points along with two steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Azerick Jetter, who scored 15 points.
Taylor Allderdice's lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Sky Reeves got a bit more time on the court (20 vs. his season average of 8.53). Reeves made the most of the opportunity, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Hampton has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Taylor Allderdice, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-3.
Hampton was taken down by Taylor Allderdice 74-44 in their previous meeting back in December of 2017. Can Hampton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
