Hilltop extended their winning streak  to five  on Friday, bumping them up to 7-3. They strolled past the Olympian Eagles with  points to spare, taking the game  28-13. 28 seems to be a good number for the Lancers as the  squad scooped up a  win with the same number of  points in their previous game.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Leo Mendoza and  Lajuan Johnson. Mendoza rushed for 222 yards and one  TD while picking up 7.4 yards per carry while  Johnson rushed for 100 yards and a pair of  scores on only eight carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 61 yards.  Zion Almazon was in the mix  as well, providing Hilltop with one touchdown.
 Hilltop was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 323  rushing yards. They are  a perfect 6-0 when  they've run for more than 200 yards.
 Hilltop didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Bryson Grant. Hilltop received some extra help from  Almazon, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
As for Olympian, their defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 8-2. Having soared to a lofty 38  points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Despite the loss, Olympian still got an impressive performance from   Jayden Fuentes, who threw for 322 yards and a pair of  TDs while picking up 12.9 yards per attempt.
 Hilltop and Olympian are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Lancers will host Coastal Academy  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hilltop's defense better be ready for this one: the Stingrays have averaged an impressive 30.8  points per game this season. As for Olympian, they will welcome Patrick Henry  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31  points  in their last three contests.
