Baseball Game Preview: Cedar Valley Aviators vs. Orem Tigers

The Cedar Valley Aviators will head out to face off against the Orem Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Cedar Valley has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 10.

Cedar Valley lost 17-10 to Wasatch on Friday.

Dredyn Mortensen made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Holden Rich, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Orem narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Spanish Fork 5-3.

Orem's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cedar Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.

Cedar Valley came up short against Orem in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 15-10. Can the Aviators avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
