After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Western Hills, Diamond Hill-Jarvis was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Eastern Hills Highlanders as they made off with a 17-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Anna Cruz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Cruz was even better at the plate, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 3-for-4. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kassandra Moreno was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Viviana Reta, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Diamond Hill-Jarvis' win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 10-11. As for Eastern Hills, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
