Softball Recap: Clovis Wildcats vs. Roswell Coyotes

Clovis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Roswell Coyotes. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Coyotes this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-4 loss last Tuesday.

Jazlynn Chavez- Marin was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Chavez- Marin was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

In other batting news, Robyn Maez made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Clovis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Roswell, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Coyotes beat Clovis by a score of 22-3 later that day.
