Malad hadn't done well against Grace recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Dragons came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 66-56. While the Dragons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Malad to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dawson Beutler, who posted 15 points. Carter Carey was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven rebounds.

Malad was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They posted seven more assists than Grace's also-impressive total of ten.

When it comes to explaining why Grace lost, don't look at Parker Yost. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Gavin Draper, who put up four points and nine rebounds.

Malad is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Grace, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Malad and Ririe will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Grace will take on Riverton in a holiday battle at 2:40 p.m. on Friday.
