The home team had won the previous four meetings between James River and Lord Botetourt, and James River kept the tradition alive. The Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cavaliers on Monday, sneaking past 13-12. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

James River's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Lord Botetourt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Coming up, James River is taking a road trip to challenge Floyd County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Buffaloes have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season. As for Lord Botetourt, they will take on Cave Spring at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
