The Waterbury Career Academy Spartans simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Derby Red Raiders 57-29 thanks in part to Figueroa, who posted 25 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Waterbury Career Academy's points.
Another player making a difference was Malahzia Weaver, who had 13 points. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.
When it comes to explaining why Derby lost, don't look at Shea Gray. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds.
