Basketball Recap: King George Takes a Loss

King George lost against Courtland on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The match between the King George Foxes and the Courtland Cougars didn't end well, with the King George Foxes falling 54-36.

Courtland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Schalkofski, who posted 16 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Those 16 points gave Schalkofski a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Airyana Maze, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and three steals.

King George's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Courtland, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

King George will host Eastern View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. King George is facing Eastern View at the right time seeing as Eastern View is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Courtland, they will head out to challenge Chancellor at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Chancellor will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Courtland surely won't give up without a fight.
