            Football Recap: Vista del Lago Eagles vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves        
        
		
        
        
            
Vista del Lago had lost three straight on the road, but  on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it four. They took a  blow against the Woodcreek Timberwolves, falling  45-14. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Timberwolves apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in October of 2024.
 Jacoby More threw for 133 yards and one  touchdown.   Kyle Cromwell was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.  On the ground,  Jack Cromwell rushed for 63 yards.
As for Woodcreek, the  victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average this season.
  Josiah Melendez was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 108 yards and one  score on only six carries, while also throwing for 208 yards and a pair of  TDs on only 15 passes. He really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 75-yard run. 139 of  Melendez's passing yards were hauled in by Ethan Keim, who also brought in two  receiving touchdowns.
 Vista del Lago will get a bit of extra time to process the  loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ponderosa at 7:15  p.m.  on  the 24th. As for Woodcreek, they will square off against Inderkum at 7:15  p.m.  on Friday. The Timberwolves will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31  points  in their last five games.
