Basketball Recap: Archbishop Carroll Takes Down Ranked Dematha

Archbishop Carroll is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of DeMatha. The Lions managed a 64-60 victory over the Stags. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against the Stags back in January, they had to take a 90-53 defeat.

It was another big night for Bam Bolding, who dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 boards. Those 32 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryton Barrett, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

The win was the third in a row for Archbishop Carroll, bringing their record up to 19-8. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points over those games. As for DeMatha, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Archbishop Carroll will take on St. Mary's Ryken at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for DeMatha, they will venture away from home to challenge Gonzaga at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
