Basketball Game Preview: Mount Calvary Christian Academy Warriors vs. Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles

The Mount Calvary Christian Academy Warriors will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Coastal Brigade, falling 41-18.

Despite the loss, Mount Calvary Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Riley Tuten made all 7 shots she took racking up 16 points along with six boards and five steals. That was a full 88.9% of the Warriors' points, marking the fifth time in a row Tuten has posted more than a third of the team's points. Dakota Honeycutt also deserves some recognition as she pulled down her first rebound of the season.

Meanwhile, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost to Trinity Christian on the road by a 66-50 margin on Saturday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Mount Calvary Christian Academy strolled past Bethel Assembly Christian Academy when the teams last played back in February by a score of 52-37. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
