Basketball Recap: Jena Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Jena can now relate to. They took a blow against the Oak Grove Tigers on Thursday, falling 57-25. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Giants have suffered since December 30, 2024.

With the defeat, Jena broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.3 points over those games. As for Oak Grove, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Jena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Oak Grove, they will challenge Westlake on Monday. Westlake will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Oak Grove surely won't give up without a fight.
