On Tuesday, Taylorville didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mt. Zion, but they still walked away with a 54-49 victory. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Braves are ranked 287th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart-Griffin came up short against Springfield on Tuesday and fell 43-31.

Taylorville's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Sacred Heart-Griffin, their loss dropped their record down to 15-15.
