Softball Recap: Centennial Takes Down Ranked Pacifica

Centennial is ranked highly in their home state and on Thursday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Pacifica. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mariners, sneaking past 2-0. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Mariners, too.

Centennial's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Campbell Cole, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Centennial has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Pacifica, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-9 win against Huntington Beach on the 4th. As for Pacifica, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Mission Viejo on the 4th.
