Basketball Recap: Alexandria's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to 22

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Alexandria had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Fergus Falls Otters with a sharp 94-72 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 22 games by 21 points or more this season.

Alexandria's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Witt led the charge by going 7-for-13 from beyond the arc on his way to 35 points. Those 35 points gave Witt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Roderick, who shot 53% from the field to rack up 27 points.

The win (which was Alexandria's 22nd in a row) raised their record to 26-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.5 points. As for Fergus Falls, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 19-9 record.

Coming up, Alexandria will take on Byron at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Alexandria has won 16 straight at home, while Byron won ten straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Fergus Falls does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
