Basketball Recap: UR Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

UR Academy had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Walnut Grove Christian Christian Warriors, falling 70-48. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Christian Warriors from their previous meeting back in February.

Walnut Grove Christian was led to victory by Ian Choate and Lucas Thomason. Choate shot 50% from the field on his way to 24 points and six boards, while Thomason dropped a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Choate a new career-high. Jack Bonagura was another key player, putting up ten points.

UR Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-37 win against Varsity Opponent on the 11th. As for Walnut Grove Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 86-44 loss against Jackson Day on the 10th.
