Baseball Game Preview: Warrenton Warriors vs. Holt Indians

For the second straight game, Warrenton will face off against Holt. The Warriors will challenge the Indians at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Warrenton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Warrenton's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Holt with a sharp 11-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Carter Martin made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Colin Disilvester was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Warrenton's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-5 when he doesn't). Richard Standley was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Warrenton pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Holt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
