Softball Game Preview: DeSoto Eagles vs. Lancaster Tigers

The DeSoto Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Lancaster Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lancaster took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on DeSoto, who comes in off a win.

DeSoto headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for four straight, but Skyline let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles skirted past the Raiders 19-18. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Lancaster fell victim to Waxahachie and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Indians, falling 18-0. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Lancaster's loss dropped their record down to 18-11. As for DeSoto, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-13.

Everything went DeSoto's way against Lancaster in their previous matchup back in March, as DeSoto made off with a 16-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
