Football Recap: Riverside Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Riverside Christian Academy had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-2 to make it six. They came up short against South Haven Christian, falling 52-28. Riverside Christian Academy lost against South Haven Christian in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-0 score last time.

Luke Hall threw for 118 yards and one TD. Weston Canter was his top target, picking up 115 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Brayden Tucker rushed for 42 yards and one touchdown.

As for South Haven Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

South Haven Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wyatt Choate, who punched in one rushing score, and also threw for 70 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Choate a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Kade Atkinson made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Riverside Christian Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on TN T at 7:00 p.m. on the 12th. As for South Haven Christian, they will host CSTHEA at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Haven Christian will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
