League recap: Bruce breaks off league-leading run for Lake Providence

Lake Providence's Allen Bruce recorded the longest rushing play in 2A District 2 this season in his game against Grambling last week. Bruce's team beat the Kittens as he sprinted for 52 yards on the play and finished with 167 in all.

Winnfield was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from third to first in the league. The Tigers vanquished St. Mary 20-8 earlier in the week.

Bruce was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate Jahlil Richardson added to the ground attack by rushing for 71 yards.

Bruce was a passing and rushing force as Lake Providence bested Grambling.

Winnfield's Taylor Adams and Taylor Adams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 2A District 2 in both passing and receiving yards. Jaylon Wade from Sterlington leads the league in rushing with 215 yards.

Ferriday took down Vidalia 40-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
