Basketball Preview: East Central HomeSchool Patriots vs. Trinity Christian Homeschool
East Central HomeSchool is 4-0 against the since November of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the East Central HomeSchool Patriots will head out on the road to face off against Trinity Christian Homeschool at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for East Central HomeSchool and 14 for the dating back to last season.
On Monday, East Central HomeSchool was the victim of a rough 70-44 defeat at the hands of the Lightning. While losing is never fun, East Central HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while the Lightning are ranked 86th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Knox Cooper, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Greyson Boyd, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian Homeschool suffered a tough 64-43 defeat at the hands of the Eagles last Friday.
East Central HomeSchool has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Trinity Christian Homeschool, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for East Central HomeSchool against the in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 74-37 win. Does East Central HomeSchool have another victory up their sleeve, or will the turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
