Football Game Preview: Karns Beavers vs. Halls Red Devils

The Karns Beavers will venture away from home to square off against the Halls Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Karns has given up an average of 33.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Karns came up short against William Blount on Friday, falling 55-30. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Austin Slover, who threw for 238 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 56 yards on only five carries. Cameron George was another key back, rushing for 184 yards while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, Halls hadn't done well against West recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Red Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Rebels 20-17. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Halls' win came from a few key players Karns will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Amari Lethgo, who threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns. What's more, he racked up 27 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Halls also relied on Eddy Soto, who's 48-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

Halls' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Karns, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Friday's game might be decided in the trenches. Karns has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 203.8 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Halls, though, as they've been averaging only 81.4 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?

Karns beat Halls 31-20 in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Will the Beavers repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
