It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lamar Consolidated had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Galena Park Yellowjackets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 17 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Aubree Jones, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Sophia Lundstrom was another key player, firing off two home runs and three runs while going 3-for-4.

Lamar Consolidated was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Lamar Consolidated's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Galena Park, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lamar Consolidated beat the Yellowjackets by a score of 8-5 on Saturday.
