Recap: Orange Grove Bulldogs vs. West Oso Bears
The Orange Grove Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-38 to West Oso. Orange Grove has not had much luck with West Oso recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
West Oso was led to victory by Jae'la Hicks and malaigha sweats. Hicks dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while sweats scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Sweats has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alivia Shaw, who scored ten points.
Orange Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for West Oso, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 22-7.
Orange Grove will head out on the road to challenge Jones at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Orange Grove in Texas (Jones is ranked 416th, while Orange Grove is ranked 1123rd). As for West Oso, they will be playing at home against Sinton at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
