Recap: Fort Thomas Apaches vs. Superior Panthers
The Fort Thomas Apaches scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They claimed a resounding 81-39 win over Superior at home. Fort Thomas has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Fort Thomas found their leader in underclassman Channing Wilson, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Secody, who scored ten points along with five assists and three steals.
Superior's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adam Sandoval, who scored ten points. Antonio Lopez was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
The win was the fourth in a row for Fort Thomas, bringing their record for this year to 18-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for Superior, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Fort Thomas will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Baboquivari is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Apaches a eight-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Superior will take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
