Basketball Recap: Cloverleaf Starts Season with Victory Against Orrville

Cloverleaf gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They really took it to the Orrville Red Riders for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-37 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-11.

Evie Barth had an outrageously good game as she shot 43% from the field to rack up 21 points and three steals. Those 21 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Makinsey Bayer, who posted 12 points in addition to seven steals and five boards.

Coming up, Cloverleaf won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Orrville, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Lucas at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
