Granite Hills and Barstow are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2023, but likely not for long. The Cougars will challenge the Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Granite Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.9 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Granite Hills and Victor Valley, and Victor Valley kept the tradition alive. The Cougars came up short against the Jackrabbits last Thursday, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 17, 2025.

Saylor Croom made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Marks, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Barstow was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 11-0 to Silverado. The shutout was out of character for the Aztecs seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Granite Hills' loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Barstow, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything went Granite Hills' way against Barstow when the teams last played back in March, as Granite Hills made off with a 10-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
