The Monroe Academy Volunteers will head out to challenge the Edgewood Academy Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Monroe Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 43 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Wilcox Academy on Friday. They fell 13-3 to the Wildcats. The game marked the Volunteers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Edgewood Academy came up short against Hope Christian Academy on Friday and fell 47-40. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edgewood Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Monroe Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-2.

Everything came up roses for Monroe Academy against Edgewood Academy when the teams last played back in September of 2017, as the squad secured a 53-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Volunteers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
