Cypress Christian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Bishop Gorman Crusaders 49-14. That's more bragging rights for the Warriors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brayden Dawson had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 70 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 100 yards on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Cypress Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 201 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 161 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

Bishop Gorman lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jeremiah Fain, who picked up 92 receiving yards and one TD. His longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Cypress Christian's record now sits at 5-0. As for Bishop Gorman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Cypress Christian and Bishop Gorman will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Warriors see the field they'll take on Bishop Reicher Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th. As for Bishop Gorman, their break will end when they face Dallas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
