Volleyball Recap: Lawrence Free State Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brinley Whitney and Taylor Stucker

Lawrence Free State extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 20-15. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Olathe West Owls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Owls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Lawrence Free State's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Taylor Stucker, who had nine digs and one assist, and Brinley Whitney, who had nine digs.

As for Olathe West, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 29-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since October 11th.

Olathe West can attribute much of their success to Kaiya Finazzo, who had 15 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Finazzo has posted over her last eight matches.

Lawrence Free State does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Olathe West, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Olathe Northwest on the 1st.
