Recap: Northeast Bearcats vs. Quincy Blue Devils
After flying high against the Westran Hornets last Saturday, the Northeast Bearcats came back down to earth. Northeast was the victim of a rough 55-33 defeat at the hands of Quincy on Saturday.
Leading Quincy to victory were Taylor Fohey and Jada Brown. Fohey scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six steals, while Brown dropped a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The match was Brown's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Northeast's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Quincy, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Northeast will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tipton at 2:30 p.m. on January 7, 2024. After both having extra time off, Quincy and Springfield will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another at 6:30 p.m. on December 27th. Springfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 190th, while Quincy is ranked 33rd).
