Volleyball Game Preview: Marquette Mustangs vs. Blue Valley Southwest Timberwolves

For the second straight game, Marquette will face off against Blue Valley Southwest. The Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Timberwolves at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Marquette is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Blue Valley Southwest, who was ranked third in their home state at the time (Marquette was ranked 14th). The Mustangs fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Marquette took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Blue Valley Southwest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season. As for Marquette, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-12.
